The World of Sidney Bird

Welcome to the world of Sidney Bird. It’s glittery with an edge, feminine with a tinge of cowboy, a modern take on the retro-western aesthetic. It’s uniquely her.

Brooklyn-based singer Sidney Bird took the internet by storm this past December, going viral on TikTok and subsequently gaining a massive following all over social media. Her recent rise in popularity has been in the works since the release of her first single “Songs About You” back in 2019. Her music has quickly evolved into an eclectic, western-pop/rock dreamscape- a subtle tribute to her Arizona roots.

Bird released her freshman album, Bad Timing, in September of 2020, which tackled love, heartbreak, and growing pains with songs like “Kisses” and “Wild”. Since then she’s been on a roll releasing singles, recording new music, playing intimate shows in the New York area, and posting TikToks with sneak peeks of her daily life. The music video for her latest release, “Brooklyn Baby”, taps into the vintage desert aesthetic with a modern feminine twist. It’s safe to say she’s found her niche and mastered it.

I had the pleasure of attending Bird’s most recent gig at Manhattan’s Rockwood Music Hall, and her love for music is evident in her electric performances- she filled the room with her powerful, raspy vocals and captured the venue, reeling it into her own world. She’s passionate, talented, and has a clear vision of what she wants- traits that put her on the fast track to stardom.

You can follow Bird on Instagram and TikTok to gain insight into the artist behind the art, and on YouTube/Spotify to listen to her catalog and keep tabs on new releases.
